DCI HD/SD TV, Battery or AC Powered SNG Flyaway System
DCI demo's SNG Flyaway at NAB 2006

The DCI, SDT-23B Transmission System is based on the latest Software Defined Radio (SDR) and RF technologies. This transmission system is optimized for HD and SD television broadcasting applications that require a small easy to deploy DVB compliant satellite uplink system that can run on AC voltages from 90 to 260 volts or 12 DC derived from a standard automobile battery. In the field, this gives unprecedented deployable options because a typical car can provide all the power required for full motion HD and SD transmission.
The transmitted video is fully MPEG-2, DVB compliant and can be received on most common off-the-shelf IRD/decoders.
The electronic system consists of DVB processor / modulator assemblies and a Ku-band up-converter. The solid state RF power amplifier is mounted on the antenna boom arm. The 1.2 meter diameter antenna (shown above) can be shipped as freight, a smaller 1.0 meter antenna is under development; this will allow the complete system to be shipped as baggage on commercial airlines.
The main features of the DVB processor / modulator assemblies are:
1. Transmission data rates up to 65Mbps
2. Modulation formats, QPSK (FEC ½, 2/3, ¾, 5/6, 6/7, 7/8 and 8PSK (FEC 2/3, 5/6, 8/9)
3. Inputs, HD-HDV 1080i or 720p (firewire 1394), ASI up to 4 muxed, SD-SDI, analog video/audio up to 4 muxed.
4. Data, one 128 Kbps duplex Ethernet (also available on Wini)
5. IFB (talent que)
6. Camera / director communication line (duplex)
7. Two telephone lines
Options:
C and Ka band transmission capability by replacing the up-converter / RF power amplifier assembly. HD-SDI SMPTE 292M, input encoder capable of most 720p and 1080i formats.
Vocality V25 communication multiplexer
